Teign Valley History Group: Exeter Cathedral talk , 25 Apr

The Teign Valley History Group is hosting a talk by Mark Cottle - Exeter Cathedral - on April 25th. >

The talk is on Thursday April 25th at 7.30pm at the Teign Valley Community Hall in Christow (note that this is a revised date due to a scheduling clash). Mark Cottle is an experienced lecturer in Anglo-Saxon, Mediaeval and Tudor history.

The Teign Valley History Group has sent us a provisional listing of its events for 2013-2014.

  • Jul 4th: ECOLOGY AT DARTMOOR NATIONAL PARK, Sue Weaving.
  • Oct 8th: HISTORY OF DEVON QUAKERS, Professor Holdsworth, Emeritus Professor in History, Exeter University.
  • Feb 18th 2014: WHITE HORSE HILL & TOTTIFORD EXCAVATIONS, Jane Marchand, Senior Archaeologist, DNPA
  • April 8th 2014: DEVON CRAFTSMEN & THEIR CARVED BENCH ENDS, Todd Gray, Exeter University
All talks are at Teign Valley Community Hall, EX6 7NA & start at 7.30pm. Coffee/tea & biscuits served about half way through. Subs for one person are £ 12, a couple with children up to age 16 are £20. If attending the April meeting the next years sub can be paid with free entrance to the April meeting.

Visitors pay £4 each meeting but are not allowed on our walks as we have to restrict numbers.

We are hoping to arrange walks/tours to Canonteign Manor & house, a tour of Moretonhampstead, a tour of Ugbrooke House, Chudleigh & a tour of the site of Clampitt Farm which was a meeting place of Quakers in 17th Century.
