The Lustleigh Society has sent us details of its new website - lustleigharchives.wordpress.com - which serves both the Lustleigh Society and the Lustleigh Community Archive.

From the front page:
The Lustleigh Society is based in the picturesque village of Lustleigh on the south-eastern edge of the Dartmoor National Park in Southwest England.

The aims and objects of the Society are to stimulate, promote and preserve a continuing interest in the history, customs and traditions, archaeology and the natural history of Lustleigh in particular and the South West of England in general.

The Society organises a programme of monthly meetings and visits as well as managing the Lustleigh Community Archive.

The Lustleigh Community Archive was started in the 1980s to provide a home for items of historical interest to the people of Lustleigh and the surrounding area. The Archive is housed in the listed Old Vestry, built as a school in 1825, which is situated in one corner of the churchyard right in the centre of the village.

The Lustleigh Community Archive is run by volunteers and is financed by fundraising, donations and from the subscriptions of members of the Lustleigh Society.
The site currently has a brief account of the Archive and its holdings, the Lustleigh Society's events programme for 2013, a short history of Lustleigh, and contacts for the Society and Archive.

The details are also on our Affiliates Page: please update your bookmarks and links to lustleigharchives.wordpress.com.
